We’re halfway through October and I can’t wait any longer to share the books I’m reading this month….because as we all know it’s *spooky season* and this reading list is going to get us all in the Halloween mood. Now, I’ll be honest: I like to read spooky books year-round. Give my a psychological thriller, suspense novel, or mystery novel and I’m IN. But most people probably aren’t the same, so I thought I’d share some spooky books in case you’re looking for something to read in October.
There is at least one book on this list that I might have mentioned before, Personally, if I love a book enough, I’ll absolutely re-read it…and maybe more than once. I know I’ve shared The Woman in the Window before, but I distinctly remember how fast my heart started beating when I got close to the end of it. That’s the best kind of spooky book, isn’t it? (I think I need to re-read that one pretty soon.)
All that being said, let’s get to the list:
- The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn
- The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James
- The Guest List by Lucy Foley
- The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware
- The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson (currently reading)
- The Whisper Man by Alex North
- In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware
- Home Before Dark by Riley Sager
- The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell
- And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
As I started making my way through this list I learned that (I think) I really like Ruth Ware’s books, so I’ll be reading more of those. There were almost multiple books from Alex North on the list as well, but since I haven’t read one yet…I left it at one. Oh, and I guess I should mention that I KNOW that And Then There Were None is not a unique book to put on this type of reading list. I just happen to really enjoy that book and have read it and listened to the audiobook multiple times. It’s still creepy every. single. time.
Ok, now tell me your favorite spooky books, suspense novels, thrillers, and/or authors so I can make my “to read” list even longer!
