Even though a couple of days have passed since Christmas, there is still some time to enjoy a few fun holiday cocktails. Don’t you think? I put together a few that could carry over for any wintry holiday. A little cinnamon cider, a sweet cranberry sparkler, and a light wine spritzer. Each is easy peasy and not to sweet, sure to please at any get together. Our family enjoyed cranberry sparklers in place of mimosas with our Christmas brunch! Cheers, and here’s hoping you all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to a fabulous 2015.
Cranberry Sparklers
Champagne
Cranberry Juice (I use “No Sugar Added”)
Fill a champagne flute just below halfway with cranberry juice, then top off with chilled champagne. Optional: Garnish with frozen cranberries.
Wine Spritzer
2.5-3 oz. Sauvignon Blanc
2.5-3 oz. Club Soda
Frozen Berries or Grapes (for garnish–I used blackberries)
Pour equal parts wine and club soda into a wine glass and garnish with frozen berries. (If you’re a weight watchers fan, this is a great way to enjoy your favorite wine and keep your points down!)
Cinnamon Cider
2 oz. Jack Daniels Tennessee Fire (or other cinnamon whiskey)
4 oz. Apple Cider
Thin sliced apples (for garnish)
Mix cinnamon whiskey and apple cider in a glass, add a few ice cubes and apple slices. This one is also a treat as a hot drink!
