A couple of weeks before our wedding, I stopped by the bookstore to pick up a few paperbacks for us to read on the beach. I knew we’d want something light and fun after all the stress of wedding planning. For me, I picked up Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling. I started reading it last summer and just never got around to finishing it–a perfect beachside honeymoon book. Mindy Kaling’s sense of humor is perfection, I couldn’t stop laughing (yes, out loud) at the stories she tells in her book. Just in case I needed a second book, I also grabbed a copy of Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter, one I’ve read before and loved. It was so worth reading again, the story was just as beautiful the second time. For him I picked up a copy of Paddle Your Own Canoe by Nick Offerman (aka, Ron Swanson for all our fellow Parks & Rec fans). From what I could tell, it was also an excellent choice for a post-wedding read. We both enjoyed having our paperbacks in our beach bag during our trip, and I think our honeymoon his and hers books were stellar choices for us.
