Well, it’s back to work today after a week of nothing but lying on the beach and chowing down on delicious coastal cuisine. I don’t know about you, but once I get down to the beach, I do my best not to leave for the majority of the day…so I’ve always got a beach bag full of my favorite things for the day. This trip, I packed up my gorgeous new Vera Bradley Tote with everything I thought I might need for a day on the beach. By the way, this tote has gone everywhere with me since I got it in Charleston!
So, what’s in my beach bag? Well, I never head to the beach without a good book to read. This trip I packed The Vacationers but Emma Straub, along with The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith. (I enjoyed The Vacationers—great beach read! I’m still working on The Silkworm, but it’s excellent so far!) And even though I love the sounds of the beach, I still tossed my little bluetooth speaker in my bag, because sometimes you want to have a little extra fun on the beach! And sunscreen, of course, but also moisturizer for when the sun and the sand make your skin feel dry. I hate the way lotion feels on my hands, so I’m absolutely in LOVE with these new St. Ives Fresh Hydration sprays. So. Handy. Plus, the Apricot scent is amazing.
I’ve recently fallen in love with KIND bars, you can almost always find one in my purse. Since SB likes them too, we tossed a few of our favorites into my beach bag in case we needed a midday pick-me-up. We also grabbed a few cans of blueberry sparkling water, to help us stay cool and hydrated throughout the day.
Don’t forget your favorite towel, so you can always find your spot when you come back from a walk on the beach! I’m loving this bright Vera Bradley one, it’s so fun! Toss in your favorite hat to keep your face shaded and grab a fun beach spiker if you can. (Seriously, I used to think these were crazy, but now that I’ve used one…I’m spoiled.)
Are you headed on a beach vacation this summer? Stock your bag with these essentials and you’ll be set for a relaxing day by the sea.
