Have you ever had a boozy hot chocolate? We love to make these on cold nights, and we had so much fun coming up with these recipes! They’ll be really fun to mix up on Christmas—you could even turn it into a little hot chocolate bar the next time you’re able to have a little winter get-together.
As for the recipes, it’s pretty hard to pick a favorite, I think they’re all pretty tasty. My husband’s personal favorite is the Bourbon Vanilla Hot Chocolate, and I think mine is probably the Peppermint Whipped Cream version. I’m a sucker for anything with peppermint during the holidays, so there’s no surprise there. Now check them out and let me know which one is your favorite!
Peppermint + Whipped Cream Cocoa
- 8 oz. of Hot Chocolate, prepared
- 2 oz. Whipped Cream Vodka
- 1 Candy Cane (Regular or mini, either one works!)
- Whipped Cream (I used this peppermint whipped cream)
Mix together the prepared hot chocolate and vodka in a mug. Add the candy cane and stir so that it starts to dissolve into the cocoa. Top with whipped cream.
Cinnamon Rum Hot Chocolate
- 8 oz. of Hot Chocolate, prepared
- 1.5 – 2 oz. Dark Rum
- 1/8 tsp. Cinnamon
- Marshmallows or Whipped Cream
Mix together the prepared hot chocolate, rum, and cinnamon in a mug. Top it off with marshmallows (or whipped cream) and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
Bourbon Vanilla Hot Chocolate
- 8 oz. of Hot Chocolate, prepared
- 1.5 – 2 oz. Bourbon
- 1/4 tsp. Vanilla Extract
- Marshmallows
- Gingerbread Cookie
Mix together the prepared hot chocolate, bourbon, and vanilla extract. Top it off with marshmallows garnish with a gingerbread cookie.
