This Bourbon Apple Cider might be my favorite fall drink right now. And it’s the perfect cocktail to enjoy on an autumn night!

Ok, have you been apple picking yet? We haven’t, but we are planning to go closer to the end of the season, so that we can get our favorite varieties from the local orchard. Apples are in season right now (at least they are here) and it’s the perfect time of year for bourbon cocktails. So, I decided to put those together and make you a cocktail that tastes like it belongs in the fall. Nothing too sweet, no pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon, but a perfect mix of apple cider and sharp bourbon. I promise, this is a perfect cocktail for a fall evening.
I’ll be honest, we went to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens last weekend, and they were offering some seasonal cocktails. I tried one (it was called the Jack-o-something…I don’t really remember) and it was where I got the inspiration for this cocktail. The drink I got was a little sweet for my taste, and it was missing the warmth of bourbon. I don’t know about you, but I just really thing that bourbon cocktails and fall go hand-in-hand.
One note about this recipe: I tried using spiced apple cider and it was not good. But then I found this one, and loved it. I would recommend finding cider somewhere locally, but not spiced cider. Just regular ol’ apple cider. Ok, here’s the recipe:
