If I’m being honest, I’ve never been one to really celebrate Valentine’s Day. When my husband and I were dating, I think we only really “celebrated” Valentine’s Day the first year that we were a couple. And even then we just cooked dinner together. By the next year we both knew that neither of us cared about this particular holiday. And then when we were dating long distance, I always had a heart-shaped pizza delivered to his apartment and he would send me some kind of treat (once he brought me an entire red velvet cheesecake!) And now…well, now we usually buy something that we both want or take a little trip. We’re counting our trip to Orlando last weekend as our Valentine’s Day gift to each other (though we have our eyes on a new coffee maker, too!)
Casual Valentine’s Day Style
On Valentine’s Day you’ll probably find us on the couch with a pizza and a bottle of wine, watching episodes of Parks & Rec. If we do opt for a night out, this is what I would wear: , (or leggings), and my . Honestly, that’s pretty much my winter uniform, but adding a little pink gives it a dash of festivity for Valentine’s Day…right?
So tell me: what are your plans this Valentine’s Day? Are you celebrating it, or are you skipping it?
