‘Tis the season for hosting family and friends for fun little get togethers…or is it just me? I always enjoy adding little personalized touches to things when I’m having company, and one of my favorite things to personalize is everyone’s drink. I know I always tend to lose mine after I set it down, don’t you? For my next Christmas get-together, I put together some easy and oh-so-fun drink flags so that everyone will be able to keep up with their glass–even more important since we’ll be using my SodaStream Power Automatic Sparkling Water Maker to whip up our own personalized drinks.
A couple of years ago, S and I both decided to make the healthier choice to give up sodas, so we tend to serve sparkling waters at our get-togethers. Since we started using our SodaStream Power, we’ve had a blast trying out all of the fabulous flavors of sparkling water that we can make with it and the many SodaStream Sparkling Drink Mixes that are available. My favorite flavor, so far, is their Cranberry Raspberry Zero (all natural flavor & sweetened with stevia!), but there are SO many options to choose from, like Blackcurrant Lime, Coriander Apple Blossom, Berry Mix, & Pear Essence. How delicious do those sound?
Ok, so back to those cute little drink flags: these are so easy to make, I’m not even kidding. All you need is cardstock, a ruler, a pencil, scissors, paper straws, double stick tape, and a metallic marker.
Here’s what to do:
1. Cut 1-inch by 2.5 inch rectangles of card stock & just barely fold them in half.
2. Stick a piece of double-stick tape on the inside of the folded card stock, then lay a paper straw in the middle of the fold.
3. Fold/wrap the card stock around the straw and secure it by pressing the two sides together. (Optional: cut a “v” shape into the side of the flag.
4. Use your metallic marker to personalize each flag. I used initials, but you can do pretty much anything to decorate them.
