On our way home from Hilton Head, we stopped in Savannah for a bite to eat at Gryphon Tea Room and to walk down to River Street for pralines and salt water taffy. My mom found this quaint little tea room the last time she visited Savannah, and she’s been raving about it ever since. I knew we had to find it to see what she’d been telling me about. Located in the 1926 Scottish Rite building, the interior of the Gryphon Tea Room is gorgeous and the majority of the staff are SCAD students, working their way through college.
We ordered a pot of Tropical Green Tea and Pork Medallions with Roasted Vegetables. Everything was a treat, I know we’ll be back at the Gryphon Tea Room the next time we’re in town. They even deliver your check in a pretty little antique book. If you find yourself in Savannah with time for tea, stop in at Gryphon and enjoy a sweet little spot of history.
