When it comes to the perfect swimsuit, I’ve always been pretty picky. I mean, I’ve worn the same two high-waisted bikinis for the last couple of summers. But this year, the one piece swimsuit made a serious comeback and I couldn’t be happier about that. When I came across this little floral number, I knew it was going to be my favorite suit this summer.
And if I’m being honest, I’ve never felt completely comfortable in any swimwear. Recently, I shared a little about body image and why I started including style content here on Miss Molly Moon. Of course, I never thought that I would be brave enough to style a swimsuit here, but when we took these photos for a couple of quick social media posts, my husband told me he really thought I should do a full post with these.
When I first reviewed the photos, I was completely shocked because I didn’t look at them and hate seeing myself in a swimsuit. In the past, I know I would have picked myself apart and searched for any reason not to share this post…but this time I didn’t. For once I like the way that I look in a swimsuit. I feel happy, and when I look at these pictures that is what I see. Relaxing by the lake with a great book makes me happy. Feeling comfortable is a great thing, and it definitely gives you more confidence. I’m still working on not being so hard on myself when in comes to body image, but I think I’ve come a long way.
