Slice & Bake Peppermint Southern Tea Cakes (Sugar Cookies)
A holiday twist on southern tea caked.
+ 1 additional Tbsp.
Red & Green Sugar
Cream butter & sugar in a large mixing bowl.
Add the eggs, vanilla, peppermint, flour, and baking powder.
Mix until a dough forms (you may need to scrape down the edges to be sure everything gets mixed well.)
Separate the dough into two halves, rolling each one into a cylinder.
*Optional: Spread red & green sugar onto wax paper or parchment paper and roll each cylinder until evenly coated.
Wrap each cylinder loosely in plastic wrap and stick in the the fridge.
When you’re ready to bake, preheat the over to 375. Slice the cookie dough in your desired thickness. The thinner you slice them, the more crisp the cookie will bake.
Bake them for 8-10 minutes on a cookie sheet lined with parchment or a silpat.
