Bright Florals for a summer soiree…
Who doesn’t love a whirlwind trip to a city that they’ve never visited? A couple of weekends ago, I hopped on a plane for a quick weekend in Chicago at The Blog Societies Conference. We kicked things off with a cocktail party at The Sugar Factory, where I caught up with a few friends from previous conferences and made some new blogger friends, too.
When I was getting ready for the conference, I could NOT find a thing to wear. Maybe I’m just too picky, but I tried three or four dresses on for the opening party and just didn’t like any of them! Luckily, I found this bright, floral maxi dress hidden in the back of my closet. I bought it early last summer, planning to wear it to my high school reunion. At the last minute, I decided to wear a fun jumpsuit instead, so this dress has been hanging in the back of my closet…with the tag still on for at least a year, and totally forgotten.
Even though a bright look is a little out of my comfort zone, the dress was just right for a summer night in the city. Plus, the airy, pleated fabric was crazy kinds of comfortable. When we left the Sugar Factory, my hotel roomies and I joined in with a little group for dinner, drinks, and a view at Cindy’s Rooftop (I mean, can you beat it?)
