Alright, y’all, it’s Galentine’s Day tomorrow!
“What’s Galentine’s Day? Oh, it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, Leslie Knope and her lady friends leave their husbands and their boyfriends at home and just kick it breakfast style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst.”
What better way to celebrate with the ladies than with brunch and mimosas, am I right? I decided to whip up some fun little shooters this Galentine’s Day…specifically raspberry and orange mimosa shooters using a little bit of sweet sherbet and some fun, tall shot glasses.
Keeping things in true Galentine’s Day fashion, a couple of mimosa shooters would pair perfectly with waffles, Leslie Knope style. I’m going to be planning on starting my Saturday morning with waffles and mimosas. Whatever your plan for Galentine’s Day, these are quick and easy to whip up without any prep or planning. All you need is orange or raspberry sherbet (or both, in my case) and your favorite bottle of Prosecco.
I used a small cookie scoop and dropped a couple of scoops of sherbet into tall shot glasses. If you’re one for planning ahead, you could scoop the sherbet into the glasses in advance and freeze them on a tray until just before serving. Whenever you’re ready, pop open your bottle of bubbly and pour a little in each glass. Be careful, though, because they’ll overflow really easily!
That’s it! To make these a little extra festive, I garnished my mimosa shooters with a little conversation Sweettart (because the regular ones taste like chalk, let’s face it.) Give the shots a little stir with a straw or spoon and enjoy! Happy Galentine’s Day, ladies.
