Sticking to a healthy diet can be hard when you’re always on the go. Whether it’s traveling, running errands, or a day at work, I always find myself reaching for something a little more unhealthy any time I’m busy or on the go…chips, sweets, you name it. These days I’m trying to be a little more prepared by stocking up on healthier snacks to keep me going throughout the day. My favorite snacks are things that I can toss in my bag without worrying about whether or not I need to refrigerate them. If I’m running out the door I’ll grab a couple of VitaTops MuffinTops out of the freezer in case I find myself searching for something sweet. These tasty treats thaw out in about a half an hour and make a perfect pick-me-up paired with a cup of coffee. Plus, they taste rich and indulgent, but they’re pretty much guilt-free!
To make sure I have all my cravings covered, I usually grab some almonds, plantain chips, and an apple and toss those in my bag, too. I’m covered for sweets, fruit, crunchy/salty, and a little bit of protein. (Ok, yes, I carry a really big bag…so there is plenty of room for all the healthy snacks I might need.)
