I’ve been talking a lot about transitional looks in the last couple of weeks, so today I thought I’d chat about the fun way that I’m carrying one of my favorite dresses from summer to fall. I’m all for pieces that you can wear during more than one season. This little dress has been a staple in my closet all summer, so I’m glad to have the chance to turn it into a fall staple, too. (I picked this exact dress up at Marshall’s, but I’ve linked some similar styles below.) This dress works really well with your favorite denim jacket, but sometimes you just need a little more color!
I love a good soft, flannel shirt and this bright one is a favorite of mine. Does anyone else remember when tying a plaid shirt around your waist was “in?” It was probably in the late nineties, but I have to say: I love that it’s coming back! I wear a lot of neutrals (mainly black & gray) and this is a fun way to add a bright pop of color to an outfit. I threw this dress on for a casual weekday lunch with friends while it was cloudy and cool…hope that weather sticks around!
