A good night’s sleep is SO important, and after nearly two years of attempting to sleep in a full size bed with my 6 foot 6 inch husband, we finally decided we had to get a new bed. Neither of us was able to get a good night’s sleep crammed in that little bed.
Three Tips for a Better Night’s Sleep:
1. Invest in a good mattress.
We’re all about ease when it comes to making over our home, and when we found Tuft & Needle, we knew it was a match made in heaven. The mattress is delivered right to your front door in a box, and the price can’t be beat. Unboxing the mattress was SO much fun. Seriously. When you take it out of the box, it’s shrink wrapped and looks to be about the width of a twin mattress, but then you remove the wrapping and it quickly expands. (Check out this real-time unboxing video, if you want to see it happen.)
2. Cut yourself off from screens 30 minutes before you go to bed.
You can find all kinds of research about using your cell phone, tablet, or computer before bed, and I’ve honestly never been very strict about checking my phone or sitting around on my computer late at night. But, I have found that if I put away my electronics and pull out a book before bed, I tend to get to sleep easier and feel more rested in the morning. Having this little time to read at night is good for me, otherwise I’d never finish a book these days!
3. Pamper yourself.
Take a warm bath or treat yourself to a mask or conditioning treatment. There’s nothing like getting the spa treatment at home. I’m partial to putting on one of before I curl up with a book and settle in for the night. (I’m partial to the Green Tea Mask and the Honey Mask, but I doubt that any of them will disappoint.)
I can’t get over how much better we both sleep on this new mattress. While the size isn’t that much more, it feels like this mattress is so much bigger. Nowadays, this bed is my favorite place to curl up with a good book.
Aside from that, their foam helps you stay cool at night and that might be my favorite feature of our mattress. I get hot really easily at night, so I turn the air conditioner down and the fan on high. I think my husband is pretty grateful for that cooling feature, because I don’t freeze him out so much at night. What I’m saying is that we’re pretty in love with our new mattress, and we’re both getting a much better night’s sleep since we switched over.
